All the beauty of the Pyrenees in one valley: in the heart of the massif, the Aure Valley delivers all the Pyrenean authenticity. Dominated by the peaks of Tramezaigues and Azet, the Pic du Midi de Bigorre and the Arbizon, it offers an incomparably mild spring, a sunny summer, a fall with shimmering colors and a snowy winter at will.

In the center of this preserved and accessible valley, in Saint-Lary – a 4–season resort – nestles “Hygge”, an authentic mountain chalet completely renovated in 2019 in a spirit of character and warmth, offering a family refuge both upscale and cozy. Located 700m from the hyper-center and 40m from the free shuttle (which brings skiers in winter to the cable car and gondola, and non-skiers wherever they want!!), you will fall in love with the breathtaking south-west view of the valley and the mountains, inviting serenity and proximity to nature.

Hygge is also the ideal base camp to discover the Pyrenees and the South-West: Spain at ½ hour, with Ainsa, the Piñeta valley and Monte Perdido at 1h00, the Canyons of Anisclo at 1h30; the Neouvielle lakes road and the Cap de Long dam at ½ hour; the Pic du Midi de Bigorre and the Col du Tourmalet via the Aspin Pass at 1H30; Lourdes at 1H20; Cauterets and the Pont d’espin Spain or the Cirque de Gavarnie via the Col d’Aspin at 2H30; Toulouse at 1H45; Biarritz at 2H20; Albi or Carcassonne at 2H30; Bordeaux at 3H00; and many other walks still…

Located at the entrance of the village in the non-passing and quiet area of l’Espeyrias while being just a 9-minute walk from the hyper-center and 1 minute from the free shuttle bus (which takes skiers to the cable car and gondola and passes down the street), Hygge offers a south-west view of the valley and the mountains, inviting you to serenity and proximity to nature in any season.

Hygge (pronounced “hou-ga”), is the Danish word that means comfort, friendliness, simplicity and well-being. This “hygge” that one experiences wrapped in a blanket when it snows outside, when you chat with friends around the fireplace, when you enjoy a good family meal with the mountain as a backdrop.

Hygge is 3 independent apartments on 3 levels (Cozy, Comfort and Cocoon) to rent together or separately to adapt to the size of your tribe and spend unforgettable moments with family or friends offering 5 possible housing combinations.

Overlooking the village, while being a stone’s throw from the center and shops, Hygge rises on a fenced plot of 800m2 and benefits from a spacious garden and a fully equipped BBQ-kitchen area. In summer and winter, do not forget to take a trip to the Jacuzzi in the indoor relaxation area that allows you to admire the splendor of the Pyrenees.

A welcoming, warm, friendly and bright interior that offers the modernity of high-end materials and finishes while respecting the mountain authenticity. Everything is planned so that your holidays will be allotted all the comfort and well-being deserved, with, for the mountain coolness, the comfort of a wood fire on the leather sofas and for the beautiful summer periods, the delights of a good barbecue and the caress of a sunbath.

Passionate about the mountains and in love with the Aure Valley with its micro-climate that makes it unique in the Pyrenees, Marisa and Jeff wanted to infuse this “Hygge” spirit that is for them an art of living in this wooden and stone chalet of Rioumajou, by making it go from a building of the 60s to a luxury chalet with a guideline: comfort in all simplicity.

The latest materials, new technologies (home automation, demanding sound and thermal insulation), high-end equipment and refined decoration choices have come to give a ”boost of youth” to this magnificent home, which after 2 years of hard work and without concessions, allow us to make this cottage more “hyggeligt” than ever

Leave your car in the private parking of the chalet and get lost in this charming village, or start your nature walks to appreciate the surroundings…
